Directly opposite to the UK, where I’m told spring has sprung, we are going into Autumn here. Leaves are starting to fall and the trees are changing to autumnal colours. It is also getting cooler.
While cooking dinner last night there was another very brief shower, lasting all of about 2 minutes and although today had some cloudy periods, we again escaped any serious rain and managed to get some washing dry.
Lazy Morning
We are getting very lazy and breakfast was more like brunch this morning and eaten outside for a change.
Afternoon Admin.
I have spent the afternoon organising our last week in South America. Tomorrow we will do something different. We are going to a winery, Bodega Familia Moizo, for a tour and dinner and staying there overnight.
For the following five nights we will go to La Chacra Holandesa. It’s a campsite run by a Dutch couple, Jan and Marieke. I believe they were overlanders themselves and they have been recommended by our Dutch friends Lilian and Rob.
We now have an earlier meeting with the shipping agent at 1400 on Friday. Poki will still go into a container on Tuesday, 1st. After this we will be homeless, so I have booked us in to a hotel in central Montevideo for two nights. We just drove through when we first came to Uruguay, as we expected to spend some time in the capital, when it came to shipping Poki . We will have some time to sightsee before we fly out on the 3rd at 18.55.
I had hoped to sit in the sun and follow the Miami Open tennis tournament. Sadly rain stopped play so that didn’t happen.
Bodega Familia Moizo is about 168 kms away from here, so we can have another late start as we said we would arrive there between 15.30 and 16.00.
