Do you think we could find our way out of Encarnacion this morning!!! Neither the Sat-nav or Google maps could do it for us. Up and down blind streets, etc. We could see the long bridge across the river, connecting the two countries but had to rely on locals to guide us!!

There is huge trade going on between the two cities, Encarnacion on one side and Posadas on the Argentine side. Towards the Posadas side of the bridge there are motorbikes and cars lined up to be processed through immigration and customs. The motorbikes with large packages on the back, or being held by passengers. Duvets seem to be prevalent. Why would you need a duvet in these temperatures? Reflecting the growing cost difference between the two countries.

The immigration process for us was simple and quick.
As there is not much to write about today, I thought a few photos taken during yesterdays visit to the Jesuit mission ruins, worth sharing, for the amazing stone and brick work. 300 years old and still beautiful. Also, the occasional bird and other, photo.

The work of tiny ants.

Is it an owl or…?
Argentina.
The sat-nav tells us it’s just under 1300 k’s to Montevideo. Instead of going back into Brazil, we chose to head directly south, in Argentina. Before finding the hotel yesterday afternoon, we filled the main diesel tank in Paraguay, so that we won’t need to buy any of the higher priced Argentinian diesel. Is it worth it?…:) My middle name should have been Moses..:)

Kilometers of burned pine plantations.
Our accommodation tonight, the only hotel we could find in the town we were passing through, at 4pm. It’s reasonably smart outside appearance is a little misleading, but we are not staying for a week! Dearer than Paraguay or Brazil and no breakfast included. I’m not unhappy about that.
Not wanting to cook dinner in Poki outside the hotel entrance, we drive a block or two looking for a quiet place to stop. Finding a grassy street, settle down to prepare and dine. It didn’t take long for a young boy to find us and invite his friends. Making our acquaintance with them, they stood off and watched us, while the dogs protested our Intrusion..:)
It’s already 5 deg cooler, since yesterday.
