Today really was a lazy rest day. Dennis already used all the superlatives about our location, yesterday.

The lovely pond we overlook is a continuous source of interest. The two moorhens with their five tiny, fluffy, black chicks are always in evidence. The chicks spending more time running across the lilly leaves rather than swimming. This morning there was lots of movement in the water with large fish surfacing. They are black and orange coloured and pretty large. I think they must be koi carp.

The coypu seem to have become used to our presence and graze on the lawns just a few meters away from us. Sometimes they stop to groom themselves and each other.

The only downside with being close to the pond is the insects. Lots of mosquitoes and bitey things. Our mosquito net over our bed is probably one of the best investments we have made.
Gerardo did tell us there were frogs in the pond. I was rather alarmed by this, remembering bad experiences when camping in France with extremely noisy frogs. Gerardo said they only made a noise when the weather was going to change. When rain or a storm is coming.
I woke in the night as I was aware of being cold, so pulled up the blanket from the bottom of the bed. The frogs were making noise too, so I’m not sure which woke me. They seem to chirp in a sing song way. Not as raucous as the French frogs, but it still took me a while to get back to sleep.
This afternoon we swam in the pool, sunbathed for a bit and then moved undercover to the shaded area as it was too hot in the sun. About 31/32 degrees today.
This evening we met Gerardo’s American friend, Paige. He has been riding his motorcycle around Uruguay for the last 2 months. He and Gerardo are going off riding together tomorrow. Gerardo tells us an English girl motorcyclist is due to arrive, so we will have to show her the ropes. Also we have to feed the dogs.
