So, we are in new premises. Different. Better. Bigger. Smarter, but we are sharing. Not a problem so far. I’ve asked Jen to extend our stay here. Better the devil you know…:) We can also self cater, which makes life so much easier.
Now, the good news, at least we are hoping it’s good news, Poki arrived in Manzanillo, which is a port in Panama, this morning at 6am, according to the Maersk web site. Joy! The next step, the container gets loaded on to the Wakayama on the 23rd to arrive here on the 25th.
The bus ride.
Back to yesterday. An early breakfast, 8am, ungodly for us..:) A tuk-tuk ride to the main road and there’s the bus, almost waiting for us and we are on our way by 9am.
By 6pm we pulled into the main bus station at Cartagena. Tired and hungry. Then a taxi ride from there to the Air B&B Jen had booked, closer to the port area. The taxi driver seemed to have no idea where the area was, so we helped him out with google maps. He’s an older guy and his car is well worn. The suspension not working, but the horn was..:) Traffic is mayhem. Motorbikes cutting in and out and and there is no sense of order. Slow trucks hogging the passing lane. Despite that, we have not seen one accident since arriving here in Colombia.
A place to chill later, though chill is hardly possible at 30deg + and humidity is 70%.
Beautiful.
Jen is working the phone and arranging for us to meet the local shipping agent later today. Finding somewhere we can have off-road parking for Poki so we can reassemble her prior to hitting the road. However, the agents are suggesting it’ll take around four days from arrival, till we can get possession!! Sigh. Let’s see what we can work out…:)

I’m guessing that you will change your plans and race back to Bogota to see Harry and Meaghan on tour ;-( !!
Hope the antibiotics did the trick Jen..
I’m recovered, thank you, Mel. No need to rush to Bogota. We’re expecting them to come to Cartagena to see us!..:)
